A client often performed price changes on multiple parts at a set percentage rate. They needed a way to automate price changes, so they would not need to go through each individual part to calculate the price change and then manually enter the new price on each individual item.
A procedure was created that would update the selected parts by the % amount entered. The procedure also created a part price change history, which enabled the company to perform analysis. They were able to determine where to set prices for each individual product based on such factors as seasonal sales, demographics etc. This provided the business with an accurate means of setting product pricing that would maximize profitability for each individual item.
